Engraved map, fully hand-coloured, size 38" x 52", dissected and mounted on linen, edges bound with green silk tape (missing from edge of one section). Scale three quarters of an inch to 1 mile. Large title, large vignette view of Chester Cathedral bottom right, Explanation bottom left, compass rose. Some brownish off-setting in area of title, a few foxing spots in Irish Sea area top left. Map folding to size 10" x 6", inserted in rubbed calf slipcase in the form of a book, calf chipped and worn, pieces of calf missing from spine, leather label with title chipped at edge.
