  1. Alkham DESIRABLE FREEHOLD & COPYHOLD ESTATES Which will be Sold By Auction, By Messrs. Coleman & Elwin, the 12th day of July, 1847, At The Flying Horse Inn, In Dover, In Ten Lots. Particulars and Conditions of Sale, 3pp., folio, plus docket title on last page. First page attractively and clearly printed in a variety of type-faces. 1847. £32.00
    Lists 10 Lots, including the tenement Wolverton Court, messuage called Man Galler, cottage at Chalksole Green in the manor of Halton.


  2. Allhallows, Isle of Grain ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. V. Scale 6" to 1 mile, size 35" x 23" plus margins. Linen backed and folding into 8vo cloth endpapers, water features hand coloured. Two very small areas shaded, with date. About half the map is sea area. 1869. £22.00

  3. Appledore, Royal Military Canal ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. LXXX. Scale 6" to 1 mile, size 35" x 23" plus margins. Linen backed and folding into 8vo cloth endpapers, main buildings, water-features, roads, hand-coloured. Some slight browning of linen between folds. 1877. £28.00

  4. Ashford, Brook ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. LXV N.W. etc. Scale 6" to 1 mile, size 35" x 23" plus margins. Dissected and mounted on linen, folding into 8vo wraps, light browning of linen along one fold, with some slight discoloration of section edges. 1908. £17.00

  5. Ashford, Smeeth, Kennington ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. LXV. Scale 6" to 1 mile, size 35" x 23" plus margins. Linen backed and folding into 8vo cloth endpapers. Revision of 1931. £16.00

  6. Bowen (Emanuel) THE ROAD FROM CHELMSFORD TO MALDON and Raleigh in Essex and Gravesend in Kent. Handcoloured map of Kent, with table of distances and decorative border above, description and coat of arms below. Overall size 7«" x 5", mounted in thin card mount, strip map on verso. 1755. £30.00

  7. Bromley, St. Mary Cray, Farnborough ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. XVI. Scale 6" to 1 mile, size 35" x 23" plus margins. Linen backed and folding into 8vo cloth endpapers. Several areas shaded. 2" split at edge of fold in linen. Revision of 1930. £16.00

  8. Cliffe LEASE of the Rookery and Dalham Farms in Cliffe and Halstow, Thomas Grant to John Oakley. Vellum, 22" x 29", wax seals. 1833. £14.00

Cranbrook ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT between Grace Hatton of Clerkenwell and John Tilden of Cranbook, relating to payment for a tenement at Cranbrook known as Nottors Farm, with barns, gardens, hop ground, and 53 acres. Large folio sheet, signed Gracia Hatton with small wax seal. Small split without loss at part of one fold. 1724. £18.00

  10. Cranbrook BOND of John Tilden of Cranbrook to George Baker. 1p., folio, 31 lines, in English and Latin. Small wax seal, signed Tilden and two witnesses (including 'Mantle Boughton'). 1729. £26.00
    Relates to a house in Hawkhurst.


  11. Deptford MORTGAGE for 1000 years of two messuages and a Dye house situate opposite the end of High Street in the parish of St. Paul, James Noble to George Shove Jnr. Large vellum sheet, later indenture on verso. 1826. £15.00

  12. Downe, Knockholt, Halstead ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. XXVIII. Scale 6" to 1 mile, size 35" x 23" plus margins. Linen backed and folding into 8vo cloth endpapers, main roads coloured brown. A few small areas shaded. Edition of 1910. £18.00

Erith & Wrotham PARTICULARS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE of a Very Valuable Freehold Estate called The Marsh Farm.... and a Public House called The Chequers or Halfway House, Situate on the Banks of the River Thames, at Erith.... and also of a Freehold Estate, consisting of the Bull Inn and Posting House, Situate at Wrotham, Kent. For Sale by Auction.... 23rd September, 1847. Folio, 3pp, fine hand-coloured double-page plan of Lot 1 with table of reference, possibly lacks plan of Lot 2. 1846. £26.00

  14. Faversham, Hernehill ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. XXXIV. Scale 6" to 1 mile. Size 24" x 36", linen-backed and folding into 8vo cloth endpapers. Water features, main buildings, railways and main roads hand-coloured, four areas in the western section shaded and marked with date (probably relating to estate sales). 1877. £27.00

  15. Goodnestone, Barfreston ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Composite map, scale 6" to 1 mile, size 36" x 18". Indelible stamp of Margate Corporation, signed by the Engineer. Wells shaded in red, with figures in red ink to show 'depth of wells from surface', and in black to show 'depth of water in wells', manuscript additions dated 1927. Third Edition 1908. £14.00

  18. Hunton LEASE of a messuage and lands at Hunton, William Riche, yeoman, and Thomas his son to William Lysney, yeoman, of Wrotham. In Latin, on vellum size 12" x 15", 34 lines. Signed by the Riches with two wax seals on tags. 1615. £60.00
    Refers to places called Spittles, Coxheath, Kitchinfield, Barnehill Green. With detailed description of situation, citing occupiers of land on the west, on the east etc.

  19. Kitchin Sculpt. A MAP OF THE COUNTY OF KENT Taken from an Actual Survey as an Index to the Large One. Engraved map, coloured in outline, 2/5" to 1 mile, divided into 25 numbered sections corresponding to the 25 sheets of the large-scale map. Size 20" x 27", dissected and mounted on linen, some browning of paper at edges of four central sections, a few light browning spots at edges. Linen on verso spotty (presumably staining from glue where paper pasted to linen). Folding into marbled slip-case, rubbed at corners, owner's 1833 inscription in ink. 1769. £190.00

  20. Knole Park, Sevenoaks WATERCOLOUR by G. Childs showing rocks in stream, overhanging trees. Size 9«" x 13", title and artist on mount, mount with gold and buff lines, narrow gilt frame, overall size 17" x 21". Slight crease visible across bottom corner. n.d. c1890? £60.00

  23. Ninington, Barham, Denton ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. LVII N.E and sheets to North and South. Scale 6" to 1 mile, size 35" x 23" plus margins. Linen backed and folding into 8vo cloth endpapers. 3 areas outlined in colour. Third Edition 1909. £16.00

  24. Orpington BILLHEAD of E. Yeates, Saddler and Harness Maker, High Street. Folio sheet, with attractive deep printed heading showing jockey, carthorses, light carriage, saddles and bridles, stirrups etc. Made out to Sir F. Evans for 17 items. 1906. £8.00

  25. Orpington BILL of Frederick Tremain, Mechanical Engineer, Blacksmith and Farrier, Plumber, Locksmith and Bellhanger... Bill on 4p folio, printed heading with variety of decorative typefaces. Made out to Sir Francis Evans for donkey shoes, making up paint, repairs to kitchen equipment, tools etc. Together with Bills of James Comley and Herbert Miles, both Job and Post Masters, Tunbridge Wells, for hire of fly etc., 1p foolscap, and 1p 4to. 3 items. 1893-1906. £16.00

  26. Rainham, Newington, Bishop's Ouse ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. XX. Scale 6" to 1 mile, size 24" x 35", plus margins, dissected and mounted on linen, folding into slightly chipped 8vo paper wraps. Roads railways and water-features coloured, some buildings coloured red. 1869. £30.00

  27. Schools Inspectorate, Tunbridge Wells ILLUMINATED ALBUM large 4to, full morocco, gilt, metal shield missing from front board, some black spots on front board, presented to Revd. H.G.Alington on his retirement as His Majesty's Inspector of Schools for Tunbridge Wells District, 1873-1901. 24 thick card leaves, comprising four pages of introduction, the rest being list of subscribers. First four pages heavily illuminated in gold and bright colours, charming decoration on first page showing teacher with pupil, globe, log books etc. The list of Subscribers is set out with name of school, name of subscriber and position. Loosely inserted are two relevant letters. 1902. £60.00

  28. Shoreham, Kemsing, Kingsdown ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. XXIX, made of quarter sheets, scale 6" to 1 mile, size 35" x 23" plus margins. Small area at Shoreham colour-washed. Dissected and mounted on linen, folding into 8vo wraps. Edition of 1910. £18.00

  32. Woolwich SECURITY ON THE COMMON FUND for £6,000 and interest, The Guardians of the Poor of the Woolwich Union to the London Assurance. Vellum, 23" x 28", two armorial wax seals 2" in diameter, one of which has some pieces of wax chipped away. 1871. £15.00
