Kitchin Sculpt. A MAP OF THE COUNTY OF KENT Taken from an Actual Survey as an Index to the Large One. Engraved map, coloured in outline, 2/5" to 1 mile, divided into 25 numbered sections corresponding to the 25 sheets of the large-scale map. Size 20" x 27", dissected and mounted on linen, some browning of paper at edges of four central sections, a few light browning spots at edges. Linen on verso spotty (presumably staining from glue where paper pasted to linen). Folding into marbled slip-case, rubbed at corners, owner's 1833 inscription in ink. 1769. £190.00

Schools Inspectorate, Tunbridge Wells ILLUMINATED ALBUM large 4to, full morocco, gilt, metal shield missing from front board, some black spots on front board, presented to Revd. H.G.Alington on his retirement as His Majesty's Inspector of Schools for Tunbridge Wells District, 1873-1901. 24 thick card leaves, comprising four pages of introduction, the rest being list of subscribers. First four pages heavily illuminated in gold and bright colours, charming decoration on first page showing teacher with pupil, globe, log books etc. The list of Subscribers is set out with name of school, name of subscriber and position.
