  1. Abbotsbury WILL of Garland Richards of Abbotsbury. Vellum, size 12" x 14", smaller certificate in Latin attached, large papered seal. 1699. £30.00
    Leaves his farm at Beaminster to his nephew William Chilcott. In exceptional crisp condition.


  2. Bartholomew's REDUCED ORDNANCE SURVEY For Tourists & Cyclists. Sheet 34. Dorset. Scale 2 miles to an inch. Colour-printed, linen-backed and folding into decorative blue cloth wraps. c1918. £12.00

  3. Bloxworth ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet XLII N.E. Scale 6" to 1 mile. Size 13" x 17", plus margins. Second Edition 1902. £10.00
    Covers Bloxworth House, Morden, Black Heath.


  4. Bradpole LEASE FOR A YEAR of a tenement in Barrack Street in Bradpole, James Froom and Stephen Hussey to John Foot. Large vellum sheet, size 16" x 27". 3 wax seals. 1835. £14.00

  5. Bright's Stores Ltd. ALBUM OF BOURNEMOUTH VIEWS 32 views, including one folding panorama. Cloth-covered boards, size 9" x 11". Adverts. Light waterstaining at bottom margin of last ten pages, lacks most of cloth on spine, boards faded at edges. c1900. £12.00
    Views (mostly by Miell & Ridley) include Branksea, Swanage, Corfe, as well as Bournemouth.


  6. Bright's Stores Ltd. ALBUM OF BOURNEMOUTH VIEWS Full-Page and Other Photographic Reproductions and Panoramic View. 32 views, including one folding panorama. Cloth-covered boards, size 9" x 11". Adverts. Lacks most of cloth on spine, boards darkened at edges. Inner front hinge split, some slight pinkish staining in bottom margin of last three views. c1900. £24.00
    Views (mostly by Miell & Ridley) include Branksea, Swanage, Corfe, as well as Bournemouth.


  7. Bryanston WILL of William Straight of Bryanston, Gent. 2p., small folio, conjoint leaf had been used as address panel by Robert Gapper to send the will to John Long at Whalley, near Frome, with small round stamp with letters 'AP'. Conjoint leaf torn right across, splits down main fold, paper creased. 1724. £17.00
    Extracted copy with Probate details in Latin. Refers to his Manor of Compton in Wiltshire, messuage in Stourpaine.


  8. Chantmarle ENGRAVING OF THE SOUTH ELEVATION OF CHANTMARLE HOUSE dedicated by the Author to Sir William Oglander. Copper engraving size 9" x 12", plus wide margins. Title and dedication below view, with small coat of arms. n.d. c1800. £14.00

  9. Chardstock AGREEMENT for a Lease of messuage and land at Alson, John Stevens of Axminster to Philip Griffith of Lyme Regis. 3p, folio, including 12-line schedule with names of fields. 2 small splits at folds, outer sheet dusty. 1853. £10.00

  10. Chardstock (Liberty and Manor of) LICENCE to William Bond of Axminster, Land Surveyor, to let a cottage and four acres called Purdishay in Chardstock. Granted at the Court Baron of the Rt. Hon. George Lord Auckland. Vellum, 12" x 15". 1814. £16.00

  11. Dorchester DORCHESTER AUGUST SHEEP & RAM FAIR Catalogue of Messrs. Hy. Duke & Sons Sale... August 6th 1925. Sheet size 16" x 8", folds, printed on one side in two columns, listing names of sellers, with location, for Dorset Down Ewes, Grazing Sheep, Dorset Horn & rossbred sheep, etc. 1925. £10.00

  12. Dorchester GEOLOGICAL SURVEY Ordnance Survey Map, Sheet 328. Coloured map, with key and section, scale 1" to 1 mile, area between borders 13" x 19". Dissected and mounted on linen, folding into small 4to marbled wraps, with Stanford label. Pub. 1904. £24.00

  13. Dorset ORDNANCE SURVEY OF GREAT BRITAIN Part the IVth. Containing Nearly The Whole Of DORSETSHIRE, with Portions of Adjoining Counties, Comprised in Plates No. 15, 16, 17, 18. Original buff wraps, size 27" x 40", sewn, finely engraved original octagonal label with title as above, with decoration of balls around the edge, small index map below title label. 6" repaired tear in front wrap from right edge, piece torn at corner of back wrap. Sheets XV, XVII, XVIII only, lacks sheet XVI (Poole). Printed on thick paper, strong black impressions. EARLIEST STATE, as described in Margary Vol. III. Published 1st August 1811 by Lt. Col. Mudge, Tower. £300.00

  17. Henbury Park, Charborough Park ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet XXXIV S.W. Size 13" x 17" plus margins. Contours in Red. Provisional Edition. Revision of 1926 with additions in 1938. £12.00

  18. Leigh and Yetminster CONTRACT for sale and purchase of land at Leigh and Yetminster, Major F. Wingfield Digby and Mrs. E. King. 4p., folio, typed, small sketch map on tissue paper attached. 1918. £8.00

  19. Mabel Lucie Attwell POSTCARD Here's Lots of Good Luck from Bournemouth. Shows four postboys in blue carrying black cat in basket. Written in pencil but not used. n.d. £10.00

  21. National Farmers' Union, Dorset County Branch CALENDAR BLOTTER FOR 1932-3. 4to, stiff green covers with photo of County Chairman, 7pp of local adverts, plus calendar, and information on branches etc. 1923. £7.00

  22. Netherbury PARTICULARS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE of a Valuable Copyhold Estate in the Parish of Netherbury, which will be Sold by Auction by Mr. F. Pittis, at the White Hart Inn, Beaminster... 24th day of November, 1830. 3pp., small folio, plus docket title, folded. With schedule of the fields, orchards etc. The purchase price, £3843.5s.0d, has been added in ink. 1830. £40.00
    The estate was called 'Perry's and Ford's', occupied by John Galpin, with a dwelling house and three cottages.


  23. Newman and Co. TWELVE VIEWS OF WEYMOUTH AND PORTLAND Twelve engraved vignette views, oblong 8vo album, blindstamped boards, both detached. Size of engraved surface 3" x 4". Light waterstain affecting most of plates, obtruding onto engraved surface. Front board detached. c1850. £18.00
    Includes Chiswell, Portland from the Nothe, Portland Castle and Railway Station, Chesil Beach with quarry working in foreground, Bow and Arrow castle.


  24. Portland ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet No. XVII. Scale 1" to 1 mile, size 24" x 31", sea area hand-coloured in blue wash, yellow shading around coast. Dissected and mounted on linen, folding to large 4to, marbled endpapers. A red line has been drawn from the railway near Broadway to Abbotsbury. Electrotyped 1872. £48.00
    Covers Dorchester, Bridport, Lulworth Cove. The red line shows the railway branch line to Abbotsbury through Upwey, opened in 1885.

  26. Sherborne ABSTRACT of the Title of Wm. Flooks to premises in Half Moon St., next to the King's Arms Inn, agreed to be sold to G.D.W. Digby. 3p. folio, in manuscript, copy deed of covenant for production of title deeds enclosed, 3p. 1861. £10.00

  27. Sherborne CARLTON THEATRE Playbill 'Reg Lever presents his Annual Xmas Pantomime babes in the Wood...' Card, size 12" x 8", printed in bright red, blue, yellow and green, with holes at top for hanging, picture of Babes with rabbits, signed W. Hemmings. January 1953. £12.00
    Includes 'Trio Amadori Is it Human or Doll' 'The Dancing Skeletons' etc.


  28. Stockland DECLARATION of Jane Spicer of Chard about James Wakley of Exeter, Chinaman. Jane Spicer's niece had been Wakley's first wife. She says they had two children but they died in infancy. Manuscript, 1p. small folio. 1875. £8.00
    Possibly relates to a case where someone claimed to be a child of the first wife.


  29. Stourpaine LEASE FOR A YEAR of messuage at France in Stourpaine, George Long to John Parker, Surgeon, of Blandford. Vellum, 12" x 24", very small wax seal. 1727. £20.00

  30. Sturminster Newton STURMINSTER FRIENDLY SOCIETY H. Legg in account with the Sturminster Friendly Society. Printed sheet, 4to, folds, showing debit and credit account, present funds etc., and 'Payments to members', listing sums paid to 18 named members. Low, Printer, Wimborne. 1854. £15.00

  31. Sturminster Newton ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT between Thomas Buffett of Winterbourne Whitchurch, Cooper, and Thomas Young of Sturminster Newton, Clothier, regarding a lease of a tenement of 18 acres in part of Sturminster called Bagber near Two Fords Bridge, called Peaslease. 29 lines in a fine hand, on paper size 15" x 12", signed by Buffett and three witnesses, with small wax seal. 1705. £30.00
    Buffett had acquired the authority 'to sell and dispose of the inheritance' from Edward Cook of Highnam in Cloucestershire.


  32. Thorncombe POSTER advertising auction sale at the Golden Lion Inn, 15th September, 1852, of two cottages and premises, at Hewood Green in Thorncombe, late the property of William Hawker, deceased. Printed in large type faces, size 18" x 12", folds. Wills, Printer, The Axe Fishing Tackle & Gun Warehouse, Axminster. 1852. £24.00

  33. Wambrook ABSTRACT OF THE TITLE of the Misses Palmer and Trustees to a messuage and farm called Bewley Down in Wambrook. 27p. folio, held at corner with tape. 1857. £15.00
    Lists deeds from 1814 to 1849.


  34. Wambrook LEASE FOR A YEAR of plot of twelve acres late part of Bewley Down, Thomas Lawrence to William Palmer. Vellum, size 15" x 19", wax seal. 1814. £14.00

  35. Wambrook RELEASE IN FEE of Premises in Wambrook Dorset and Grant of a Right of Way, Isaac Deane and his Trustee to Revd. Wm. Palmer. Two large vellum sheets, wax seals. With brief Schedule of deeds. Loosely inserted is LEASE FOR A YEAR, single vellum sheet, 2 wax seals. Ink slightly faded. 1814. £16.00
    The land comprised 30 acres part of allotments of land numbered on the map of inclosure, and bounded on by a piece of land called Buenos Ayres, and land belonging to Wadham College.


  36. Wambrook RELEASE in fee of several pieces of Ground in Wambrook allotted in respect of his Estates, John Beviss of Wambrook to Thomas Lawrence of Chard. Two vellum sheets, vellum slightly browned, size 17" x 28", wax seals. Refers to allotments of Common ground of Wambrook under the Enclosure Act. Lists the plots by number according to the enclosure plan, and the tenements such as White's, Brown's, Warren's, Darby's, etc. qualifying Beviss for them. Loosely inserted is a lease for a year relating to the same transaction. 1809. £20.00

  37. Wambrook RELEASE in Fee of a Piece of Land in Wambrook, Thomas Lawrence to the Revd. W. Palmer. Vellum, two large sheets, two wax seals. Ink slightly rubbed at two folds. 1814. £18.00

  38. Wareham ASSIGNMENT of a piece of land at Wareham at the south side of West Street, Revd. H. Capel to R.C. Hutchings of Wareham. Vellum, 20" x 22", ink rubbed in parts. 1881. £8.00

  39. Wareham LICENCE to assign land at Pound Lane, John Calcraft of Rempstone Hall to Samuel Townsend of Wareham. 1p., sm. folio. 1843. £10.00

  40. Weymouth HAWKES FREEMAN LIMITED Bridge Cash Stores, Weymouth. Leaflet advertising 5 types of Frister & Rossmann's sewing machines, 4pp., 8vo, 5 good large illustrations. Gives prices... together with... very small leaflet of the same Weymouth stores advertising the 'Kent' rotary knife cleaner, 4pp., illustration. n.d. c1910. £14.00

Coloured plan, size 20" x 34", showing plots above Overcombe Beach, proposed Cliff Walk and Gardens, Recreation Ground, Charlbury Lodge, Jordon Farm, Preston. Each plot numbered. Some stamped 'Sold'.   43. Weymouth RECORD OF PAYMENT for 'Harwich Light'. Single folio sheet titled on verso 'Weymouth Harwich Light for Ladyday Quarter 1809', manuscript listing 4 quarterly payments for 1809, on verso ruled columns giving breakdown of Ladyday payment, single line, signed J.H. Browne. 1809. £12.00

  44. Wimborne area ORDNANCE SURVEY MAPS scale 6" to 1 mile. Sheets XXIV S.W. (Henbury Park, Charborough Park), Sheet XXV S.E. Hinton Parva, High Hall, Sheet XXXIV N.W. (Shapwick, Sturminster Marshall), Sheet XXVI N.W. Chalbury, Horton, Sheet XXV N.E. (More Crichel, Witchhampton), Sheet XLII N.E. (Bloxworth), Sheet XVI S.W.
