  1. Ashton ASHTON PRIORY, NEAR BRISTOL Pencil drawing so titled, on 'Bristol' paper, size 10" x 13". A fine detailed drawing in soft pencil showing figures on a lane outside a large house with walled garden, Gothic windows on first floor, tall tree in foreground framing view, larger building just seen through trees behind house. Signed 'MS' March 23, 1826. £40.00
    Shows in detail the architecture of the house, with 'Gothic' windows, porch, decorative details on roof etc.

  3. Bath Abbey WEST VIEW OF BATH ABBEY CHURCH. Monochrome watercolour drawing. On paper, size 7" x 5", a fine very detailed drawing, titled as above in the lower margin. On the lower corner is written 'Britton's B.A.C'. This drawing would seem to be taken from a plate in John Britton's 'Bath Abbey Church', (the figures in the doorway are the same) but whereas the engraving shows the rest of the Abbey this shows only the front. n.d. c1830? £18.00

  8. Bath City Centre ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet Somerset IV.5. Scale 25" to 1 mile. Size 25" x 37". Covers The Circus, Locksbrook, Alexander Park, Morland Brick & Tile Works. Public Houses shaded in pink, and three which are in the bottom left corner named in red ink. 6" repaired tear at right edge. 2" brown stain in right margin from old sellotape, and in a few places bottom left some light narrow strips of tape, not obscuring printing. Second Edition 1904.... together with.... CITY OF BATH DEVELOPMENT PLAN TOWN MAP. Town & Country Planning Act 1962. Amendment No. 6 (1965). Scale 6" to 1 mile.   15. Bishops Hull BISHOPS HULL CHURCH from E.N.E. Pencil drawing on thin card, 5" x 8", a fine, very detailed drawing showing the view across the churchyard with gravestones in the fore-ground, and a cottage to the right, titled as above and with the date on a tombstone. Broadside in which Vere Poulett comment on the recent decision of Select Committee of the House of Commons, referring to the Polls of 1806 and 1807, thanking people for their support and conveying his readiness to represent them in Parliament in future. Size 10" x 8", 24 lines, pasted to card, with inscription in ink below 'Presented to the Club by Mr Henry Harding in memory of his father... 4th December 1893'.   36. Chard ACCOUNT OF THE PERSONAL ESTATE of late Mr Edward Baker, died 19 Feb. 1820. Manuscript, 2p., folio. Lists sums due to him on mortgage (for people at Chard, Hatch, Wincanton), due on bond, money lent without security, leasehold estates at Overland, Sea Mills, Chard, House and Tan Yard at Broadway, etc. Total due amounted to nearly £16,000. 1820. £8.00

  47. Dunster Castle EXTERIOR OF ENTRANCE GATEWAY TO DUNSTER CASTLE. Watercolour, on paper 15" x 10", the image covers approx 2 thirds of the paper, shows the gateway with trees and shrubs lining the walkway. Titled in ink, as above, and with the signature of 'Hen Smith'. late 19th century. £18.00

    Gibbs published numerous guidebooks to Bath, but this plan does not appear to have been folded or inserted in a book.

  56. Glastonbury Abbey WATERCOLOUR showing a view through the Norman doorway into St. Joseph's Chapel.' Size 8" x 5", on thick paper, backed at corners onto a thinner sheet. A good amateur watercolour, with good architectural detail, in tones of sepia, grey and blue. Standing in the archway is a man who looks like a workman, and a ladder is propped against the edge. no date. mid-nineteenth century? £28.00
    There seems to be a signature in the bottom right-hand corner which looks like 'Ellen. May 1841?' but the number after '18' is not clear.

    The views do not show the top of the roof-line, and it's possible the top of the drawings have been slightly clipped.

Five architectural pencil sketches on thick paper, sizes 38cm x 28cm, (i) Gateway to Bishop's Palace. Two small measured sections of detail top right. Dated Aug. 12. '89 (ii) The Deanery. Dated Aug. 13, '89, together with another sheet 'Details of Bays' with measured details of carving, sections etc. (iii) The pulpit in Wells Cathedral. Finished in watercolour, with pencil sections down right side. (iv) Wells. Window with stone tracery, and tall chimney (from the Vicar's Close) with carving at the base, section of carving.
