     * All known copies of this work finish in mid-sentence on page 640: as he wrote this in jail what followed may have been censored. Green's Bibliotheca Somersetiensis, volume 2, page 512 states 'The third volume seems to have been left unfinished and is very rare.' Title-pages for volumes 2 and 3 were never issued.
     With the engraved armorial bookplate of Edward Duke to 2 volumes. Born into a well-off family in Wiltshire, where he ran the family farm, he eventually became involved in politics and electoral reform in Somerset, Bristol, etc.

The Polling took place at Taunton, Ilchester, Bridgwater and Williton on the 16th & 17th January 1835. The Declaration of the Poll by the High Sheriff was at Taunton on the 19th January.'
